Snow sports and the joys of winter
Savour the peace and quiet of the snowy woods and pastures of the Val di Rabbi, an intense experience in the wilderness where skiing, snowshoeing and the slower winter sports take centre stage to create a dream holiday in the Italian Alps.
The enchanting autumn landscape
Deep blue skies, leaves a thousand shades of gold, the silence broken only by the roar of a stream or the mating call of the deer. This is autumn in the Val di Rabbi, a small and unspoiled valley in the Italian Alps, where the quieter seasons reveal the incredible wild beauty of the valley.
The mating call of the stags
Each year, for just a short period of time between the end of September and mid-October, you can hear the awesome mating call of the stags in the Stelvio National Park. Every weekend during this period, we take our guests into the Val di Rabbi’s forests, equipped with binoculars and telescopes, to witness first-hand this magical courtship. And for anyone who doesn’t mind getting up at dawn, the Stelvio National Park organises exciting walks in the silence of the woods as they come to life. Listening to the bellowing of the deer is a unique experience.
Mushroom picking and tasting
This is the season when huge quantities of a wide range of different types of mushrooms (more than 100!) can be found in the valley’s forests. In the silence of the woods, where the only noise is the crunching of the dry leaves under your feet, stumbling across a freshly sprouted porcini mushrooms or a splash of yellow chanterelles is an indescribable experience. Come the evening, you can look forward to tasty, authentic meals based on the mushrooms we have gathered in the forests of the Val di Rabbi. To pick mushrooms, you must have the single or multi-day permit. Further information
